Are you a local design or creative agency able to host an 10-week graphic design internship - with 50% wage funding?  

Design Futures is a new programme from LIFT and Capital City College Group’s Creative Skills Academy, for talented creatives who are ready to take their next steps into work. The programme will include a 4-week, full-time practical course to help enhance graphic design and branding skills followed by access to 10-week paid internships. We’re looking for local design and creative agencies to join the programme and host an intern.

September 2026 – intensive training (4 weeks)

Participants will complete an intensive graphic design course while building key professional skills, including communication, teamwork, leadership, and confidence.

The programme includes:

  • Live briefs
  • Studio visits
  • Feedback and critique sessions

A strong focus on employability will prepare participants for roles in the creative industry.

October – December 2026 – paid internships (10 weeks)

Participants can interview for paid graphic design internships with creative and digital agencies.

  • Duration: 10 weeks
  • Paid: London Living Wage (£14.80 per hour)
  • Working pattern: 5 days per week (with some Friday's required for additional training sessions)
  • 5 Fridays: Professional development delivered by Capital City College (workshops, training, networking)

Partner employer opportunities

We are looking for employers to:

  • Host an intern (up to 5 days/week). 50% salary funding available for SMEs at London Living Wage (£14.80/hr)
  • Provide a supportive environment, dedicated manager, and meaningful project work
  • Demonstrate a commitment to diversity
  • Consider interns for permanent roles
  • Provide a reference at completion

Other ways to get involved

If you can’t host an intern, you could:

  • Deliver a masterclass
  • Host a studio visit
  • Set a live brief and give feedback
  • Offer mentoring

Our Support (LIFT & Capital City College)

We will:

  • Deliver training before and during placements
  • Manage recruitment (advertising, applications, shortlisting, interview support)
  • Provide ongoing pastoral support
  • Offer 50% funding for interns salaries for SMEs
