Are you a local design or creative agency able to host an 8-week graphic design internship - with 50% wage funding?
Design Futures is a new programme from LIFT and Capital City College Group’s Creative Skills Academy, for talented creatives who are ready to take their next steps into work. The programme will include a 4-week, full-time practical course to help enhance graphic design and branding skills followed by access to 8-week paid internships. We’re looking for local design and creative agencies to join the programme and host an intern.
May-June 2024: Intensive four-week full-time course to accelerate people’s skills in Graphic Design (Photoshop, Illustrator), working to industry standard briefs and to build employability and soft skills.
July-August 2024: Paid internships with creative and digital businesses.
- Interns will work four days per week with an employer in a design role. Additionally, they will spend one day each week on additional training, development and networking activities with Capital City College.
We are looking for partner employers to:
- Host an intern for the duration of the eight-week placement (up to four days/week). 50% funding is available for intern salaries whilst they are with you at London Living Wage (£13.15/hr) for SMEs.
- Provide a supportive environment and dedicated manager, and real project opportunities to develop the intern’s skills.
- Uphold a commitment to diversity practices
- Consider interns for a permanent role post-internship
- Provide a reference for the intern upon completion
LIFT and Capital City College Group will:
- Provide relevant training prior to, and during, internship placements
- Support with recruitment of interns (advertising, collecting applications, and help with shortlisting and interviews if needed)
- Provide additional pastoral support to interns while on placement
